First Responder Program
We Understand What You Carry
At Labyrinth Psychological Services, we understand the demands of your work—because many of us have lived close to it. Our team includes individuals with backgrounds in military and first responder communities, giving us insight that goes beyond textbooks.
You’re trained to stay composed under pressure, to step in when others step back, and to carry what most people never have to face. Over time, that kind of responsibility can take a toll.
Sometimes when you’re focused on taking care of others, your own well-being can take a backseat.
The Impact of the Job
Constant exposure to stress, trauma, and uncertainty affects both the mind and body. Many first responders, service members, and veterans experience anxiety, depression, burnout, sleep difficulties, or symptoms of trauma. Some feel constantly on edge; others feel numb or disconnected.
For veterans, transitioning to civilian life can add another layer—rebuilding identity, finding direction, and adjusting to a different pace of life.
These are not personal failures. They are natural responses to sustained, high-stress experiences.
Care That Meets You Where You Are
We provide confidential, specialized support for first responders, active-duty military, veterans, and their families. Our approach is trauma-informed, meaning we focus on creating a space that feels safe, respectful, and grounded from the start.
Together, we work to help you make sense of your experiences, reduce distress, and regain a sense of control. Over time, treatment can help you feel more steady, more present, and better equipped to handle what life asks of you.
Treatment That Works
We use evidence-based therapies proven effective for trauma and high-stress professions, including CBT, EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), and CBT for Insomnia (CBT-I).
Your care is tailored to you—your experiences, your goals, and your pace.
Getting Started
Your first step is a confidential intake session. It’s a straightforward, low-pressure conversation where you can share as much or as little as you’re comfortable with.
From there, we’ll connect you with a clinician who understands the realities of your work and the challenges you’re facing.
